Janet was born about 1837 in KIlmarnock, Ayrshire, the daughter of David McCreath and Agnes Haig.
Her husband was Stephen Carmichael. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Francoise (1859-?) and Octave(?) (1861-?).
