Daria was born in 1939 in Kirkcaldy, the daughter of Orazio Mariano (Harry) Visocchi and Angela Domenica Jannetta.
Her husband was Hugh Lynn Swales, who she married in 1966 in Buckhaven. Their three known children were Lynne Angela (1967-?), Anthony Jude (1969-?) and Carina Martine (1973-?).
