Alexander was born on 28 SEP 1924 in Hutchesontown, Glasgow, the son of James McCreath and Margaret Strickland Shaw.
He died on 6 NOV 1992 in Royal Infirmary, Stirling.
His wife was Agnes (Anne) Young McLeod, who he married on 10 DEC 1949 in Glasgow. Their two known children were Alexander Alan (1952-?) and Norma McLeod (1955-?).
