James was born in DEC 1782 in Mauchline, the son of John Meikle and Janet McCreath.
His wife was Catherine Law, who he married in ABT DEC 1821 in East Kilbride. Their three known children were James (1829-?), Elizabeth (1832-?) and James (1834-?).
